Just to clarify, it is not. The game tries to replicate the fight to progress style of the Streets of Rage franchise in a 3D rendered setting. However, what they seem to have forgotten, is that Streets of Rage was a game from the eighties and had much more limitations than a developer today. So why is it that this game feels so hollow.
The enemies come in small, medium, large or boss sized with no variation throughout the whole game aside from a new skin based on the area. All the enemies fall to the same attack strategies and the bosses themselves all can be defeated through the same methods too.
So you would assume that the fighting is able to carry the game forward. Admittedly, the fighting is fun at times, the animations are smooth and the team gameplay does offer some interesting situations. However, the repetitive nature of the brawls takes away any joy you might have garnered from these moments. The game relies on its combat so heavily that there is little more to speak of in this title. There is a small amount of exploration that is encouraged throughout the stage to collect DNA samples.
Plus, the quintessential part of a Spiderman game , the platforming, barely makes an appearance and offers nothing other than a means of progressing. One of the saving graces for the title is the visuals and sound quality. The game opts for an art style that delivers a more comic book style Spiderman universe rather than the realism we have seen in other games of the time period.
The environments consist of different international locations and are quite well presented in truth. The textures are far from stunning but they are simple and effective which is all they really need to be. Then in terms of sound quality, the voice acting within this game is impressive, with each actor capturing the essence of every character within the universe and delivering a performance that has a range of emotions and expressive tones which helps to keep the rather weak story somewhat engaging.
It does have some good voice acting and visuals. Plus, it can be somewhat interesting to play as the villains of the Spiderman universe which is something that is rarely offered to players. Aside from these small moments though, the game is a let down that is a black mark in an otherwise strong library of Spiderman licenced games.

Fans of the comic or the older animated shows were unhappy with the highly profitable films because the true character was lost. Our hero, looking dainty, short and weak as ever Some allies will go ahead and really work with you instead of doing the standard solo superhero thing For starters, FoF is not a sequel to the movies, nor is it a standard game.
Once that is understood the simplicity and many oddities become quite understandable. No, FoF is not something the average-aged gamer would enjoy, but playing with your kid can be quite entertaining. Spiderman has to free his enemies and, with their help, defeat this new evil to save humanity.
At all times Spiderman will have a friend on the battlefield, meaning someone can pick up a controller and jump right into the action. Parental controls were put in place for a reason, and as long as I know who is on the other side of the line, online play sounds fine. Which is great, considering that fighting like that is all the gameplay there really is, save for finding hidden treasures.
There are 3 different web attack groupings: the web line, web shot and web stun. Web line is used for grabs and throws, web shot shoots web that causes damage to foes, and web stun ties up enemies for a short time. Only one can be used at any time, but switching between them is very simple and quick, and combinations using two or three of these groupings are tremendously simple to do, with a little practice.
