I've read them both and am not greatly concerned that I'll ever hit the problems described in those reports but it might be worth mentioning this on the RPMForge mailing list. At present you seem to have two options for installing VLC 1 install vlc and coerce the system into installing an older release of libmodplug that works with it 2 install the updated libmodplug and break vlc, possibly requiring it to be removed.
